I'm currently an international student in Canada and I will be graduating in August 2022. However, my study permit expires in December 31st 2022. Am I allowed to work part-time (20hrs/week) till December 31st 2022 after graduating before I apply for PGWP in Jan 2023?
Your study permit expiration doesn't have any affect here in your situation. The moment you receive your graduation letter, you are no longer a student. Therefore, even if your study permit is still valid, you are not allowed to work. Again, you need to stop working right at the moment you offically graduate.
You shouldn't wait that long to apply for your PGWP. Only after applying for PGWP that you are allowed to work.
Not to mention the fact that your study permit expires in Dec 2022 and you are planing on applying for PGWP in Jan 2023. You are putting yourself at risk for absolutely nothing.

Thank you, I appreciate the detailed response. So, technically, I can start working as long as I have applied for my PGWP in August 2022 but still do not have it in hand correct?
