Working for another country remotely while in-land sponsorship is processing (before work permit).

Hi,

So I moved to Canada recently and I am about to submit my in-land spousal sponsorship application. I currently have visitor status and will also be applying for the open work permit together with my application. However, I am currently working remotely for a company back in my home country. Should I state this in the SCHEDULE A BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form? I do not get paid in Canadian, all my money goes to an account back home, so I have no affiliations with Canada as far as my job is concerned.

If you are still employed by them, yes, you do need to declare it where it asks for your employment history.

As long as your employer has no Canadian offices or clients you can work for them and you need to declare it.
