Work visa refused but want to apply visitor visa

Hello Im new here I want to apply for a tourist visa this year to visit my brother but scared to apply because I just applied for a work visa last year and got refused as a caregiver. Can I apply again as a tourist visa? Is it okay to apply as a visitor?

It is ok to do so, but getting denied of a work visa impacts negatively on your visit visa.

You can certainly apply for a TRV. Your previous work visa will not negatively impact your TRV because each visa application is evaluated for its own merits.

Do make sure you demonstrate a genuine purpose of visit + good financial situation (yours, not your brother's) + solid reasons to return home.

You must declare all visa refusals in Question 2 of the Background Information section of the TRV form, whether for Canada and/or any other country.

Failure to declare any visa refusal could result in a 5-years' ban for misrepresentation
