I am currently in Canada working with a Work Permit, my current work permit expires on September 7th and have already filed the application to extend it, so from September 7th I'll be on implied status until I receive the new one.
I receive this week an offer of employment of a new company, so they want to apply on my behalf to obtain a new work permit before the current one expires, I have two questions.
1. Is there any problem in having two work permits on process at the same time (old employer, new employer)??
2. What happens when I receive the new employer Work Permit? is the previous one cancelled automatically? How much time do I have to change to the new employer? What happens if for some reason the new employer (or I) change our mind?
Does the new employer have a positive LMO in your favour?

I am in a similar situation, I started working for a new employer 4 months ago, but it did work out and my previous employer offer me my old job back, the work permit that I have for the previous employer is not expired so I decided to call CIC to find out if I can use it, the answer was YES.
For question #2,
-the previous work permit still valid;
-is up to you and your new employer, both work permits are valid you just should not use them at the same time.
-again both work permits are valid, so you can still work with your current employer.
For q #1,
-I think this should not be a problem, but maybe, someone at the immigration office may decide to send you the one for the new employer, but I don't know.
Just want to ask question regarding using the previous work permit that is still valid. What if Im going to look for another job and someone hires me, can i use the previous work permit that is still valid rather than the current work permit that is already expired in applying for a new work permit for me not to restore my status. Coz if I use the current work permit, I only have less than 60 days to look for another job and restore my status but I still have my previous work permit that is still valid.
Thanks
