My work permit is expiring in 20 days! My lawyers need to post job advertisement on the job bank for another 30 days. Apparently, I require more time to submit my LMIA application. I am in Canada since last 5 years and have been working with my current employer for the last 2 months who is applying for my LMIA.
Can I stay in Canada in this situation even after my work permit has expired? If so, can I work until I get my work permit extension?
What are the restoration rules to stay in Canada for such cases?
What other possible options do I have?
You should be able to apply for a Visitor's visa to help extend your stay in the country but you would have to stop working once your work permit expires.
