You need to put the date of the submission day. ie. If you are applying today then input today's date 2024-11-06.

So i put the passport information and that it it expires the day of the submission, although it expired more than a year ago

also i have a couple more questions while filling the imm5710:

-first section, do i choose: work permit with same employer ( although i may not stay with same employer)
- coming to canada: initially i came to study but never did. so i choose studys
- details of intended work in canada, also i put my current employers information
- background, have you previously applied to enter and remain in canada, do i put yes and details about my student visa

im not an expert but I would provide details of any visas you have for canada (previous and current)

Similar situation here, I applied in the middle of August 2024 and am still waiting for the final decision. The temp extension is expiring on February 2025 but I'm worried my credit card is expiring with the current work permit expiry date (January 2025). The bank is asking for a work permit to renew the credit card.

Hello there,
I'm a protected person.

My work permit is about to expire on February 2025. I'd applied for an extension on mid September 2024. The processing time is way too long that's why I'd applied earlier. But IRCC withdrawn my application for the following reasons:

You hold a valid work permit expiring on February 2024.

Note: Document can't be issued beyond validity of passport.

I called IRCC, they said I applied way too early that's why they withdrawn it. I asked about my expired passport and the note given on letter of withdrawal. They said ignore this note, there are a lot of claiments and protected person without valid passport.
My PR application is in process.
When should I apply again? They said I need to do paper based application.

I got my work permit for renewal within 3 weeks. What is the difference? I think IRCC is one of big problems in Canada.

Agreed . Honestly I feel since we’ve already had our WP it should be as simple to go to a service Canada location and get a renewal on the spot .

I am protected person and I did apply my permanent residency as well and it's under process but my work permit will expire in the next few months so can anyone send me the link where I can renew my work permit online?
