Work on RTD in another country?

Hello there,

I do have a PR card and RTD. my question is can I work in another country on RTD? or can I use my old passport to travel to another country and work there? Please if anyone has information so advise me.

You can’t use your old passport or renew your old passport or risk losing your protected person status in Canada. You also can’t visit your home country until you are a Canadian citizen. Whether you can work in another country depends on the laws of the other country. In most cases you won’t be able to work abroad you are usually limited to visit for a certain period of time while using an RTD. As a protected person would also suggest that establishing your life in Canada is in your best interest to gain citizenship.
