Hi,
Im in Canada on closed work permit but I lost job at the end of August, 2022. Can someone please let me know if I can work for an American company remotely if I will get paid in my US bank account? My PR and bridging open work permit is in processing and my current work permit is valid till end of Jan 2023. I have also applied for a TRV (Visitor visa) from inside Canada and its in processing.

You can do it as long as the US company has no Canadian operations / customers / clients.
thanks.. they dont have canadian operations. I know canada wont allow to work since I am on implied status with closed work permit so I am supposed to satisfy original conditions of work permit. So wanted to cofirm

No Canadian clients or customers either. Are you a US citizen or do you have a U.S. work permit? You can’t get paid into your US bank account If you don’t have a U.S. WP or aren’t a U.S. citizen. You will have to declare the income.
