I applied for a visitor status extension by paper just before my PR was approved. The CIC website says I have to send a written letter asking to withdraw my visitor extension application to the visa office handling that application. This might be a silly question, but do I actually have to send a request by mail or can I just send a Case Specific Enquiry or email to that office? I'm hoping to get a refund for the fee, since I'm sure they haven't started processing my extension request yet.

Hi Decoy, I searched for this topic as I am in the same position. I applied for a visitor extension but my PR came through so I'm keen to withdraw (and get the 100 bucks back!). Wondering if you had any success sending an email to the Ottawa office? (btw I applied for my visitor extension online so we may not be in the exact same situation). Thanks in advance!
