Withdrawing from university

Hi,

My wife entered Canada in September to study at McGill university. She has her study permit and student visa. She received an admission offer from UofT for January 2019 and she withdrew from McGill last week. She changed her DLI number in her CIC account. I want to know if she can stay in Canada till January or not? Because she is not pursuing her studies till January.

Can stay but can't work. There are many folks who enter 2-3 months before the program starts.
