Quick question folks. When I've received my PR am I a dual national? OR does the term "dual national" apply when your are a CITIZEN of both 2 countries?
Example. I'm born and raised in UK when I get my PR for Canada am I therefor a dual national?
Canada does not have any issue regarding this matter.
But, you have to check if your first country does allow you to have dual citizenship. If not, you would have choice to cancel one citizenship.
There are some countries who do not allow dual citizenship. Luckily, Canad is not amongst those.

PR does not make you a citizen. When you get PR check if your home country which is UK allow dual citizen because Canada does not have problem with that.
if UK does not have a dual citizenship policy you have to surrender one citizenship.
therefore it is better to be PR always if your home country does not allow dual.
