Hi guys,

I have a question. My wife and I have been in Canada for 5 years now. We recently got our PR through Canadian Experience Class. She was the primary applicant working as a manager at a hotel. We have been together since we came to Canada from India. We got married 2 years ago.

Unfortunately, things are not going well between us, and as much as I hate to admit it, it seems that she wants to divorce me.

I was her secondary applicant and got my PR just because she was my wife and completed 12 months of CEC so I got my PR being her husband. Nothing was fake, we have come a long way together but for the reasons I am not gonna mention, since I am ashamed of myself, she is most likely divorcing me soon.

Do I lose my PR? I know that people who got their PR by Family Sponsorship lose it if they haven't lived together for 2 years after being sponsored.

Does this apply to CEC as well?

Thank you

misal

Does your COPR have conditional 51 written on it? If it doesn't, you won't lose PR status. If it has conditional 51 written on it, you can lose your PR status if marriage ends before 2 years after PR landing date.

Ok so I am looking at my COPR now.

Where it says Conditions: ______ there is nothing at all just empty space

Where it says Sponsor Information: It says N/A

Does it mean I am safe?

Already answered elsewhere. OP wasn't sponsored as a spouse but migrated together with his wife through an economic class (CEC). Conditional PR doesn't apply.

I figured it didn't apply in OP's case but this is one sure fire way to find out if you have conditional 51 or not on your COPR.
