I did contact my MP and he said its being reviewed by a Visa officer. He said I passed the eligibility; he says when I received AOR...that is the sign that I passed eligibility. Is it true !! any comments would be appreciated.

AOR just means you are eligible to be considered for PR under CEC. It does not mean you will get PR for sure.

I get frustrated reading through topics and seeing some people waiting for news from CIC for 7-12 months after MR is done. We even didn't get MR...

Could be a number of factors. I know i'm royally screwed since my first name is Mohammed and my last name is pretty common too, lol.

They'll probably do a million background checks on me before they let me through lol

Man, this may be true.
There is an old thread on the longer security checks for certain nationalities...let me see if I can find that.

MR request is strictly tied to ELIG i strongly believe . As I said earlier too please wait for GCMS notes.

Hi all I am a March applicant (application received by CIO Mar 28, AOR Apr 16) and I ordered GCMS notes on Oct 16 just to check the progress on my application. I just got mine today and I see that eligibility portion has not even started while most March applicants got their MRs in September and October......more interestingly is that I got PCC request few days after I requested GCMS notes. Is there a reason why they are not processing my file (maybe they just missed it)? I am asking because it seems to me there has been no progress made on my file until I requested GCMS notes.

I think it may depend on different VO, maybe your VO was dealing with another cases or he took a vacation, so you are little bit left behind.
