rubyalabar,
Congratulations on your PPR. Finally your wait is over
Folks in this thread, keep the following fact in mind. Just south of the Canadian border, people are waiting for years, sometimes more than a decade to get their greencard and then citizenship. So please be patient and count your blessings, that you are able to contact CIC yourself through email and phone. No such luck down south.
it seems that people can get the PPR very quickly after file transferred.. my file has not transferred to other office, but BUffalo informed us that they did the initial assessment already on Nov 15, so really dunno when it will be completed. .. :'(
It normally takes from 5 to 10 days, I haven't checked mine yet to see if it's been encashed. As far as I know if you have not paid your RPRF they will ask you to do it before issuing your visa but I have heard from other people they will PPR and RPRF request if necessary.
Happy new year to you too..
i am so frustrated that it is 2011 ... according to the process time , it normally takes 11 months for PNP from date of application received to approval, but mine is coming to 10 months, no more update after the IA. ..

i've been reading other threads, a number of people have received email from Buffalo informing them of file transfers...maybe those who are waiting will get updates soon. looks like Buffalo has woken up from its hibernation ;D
We did our medicals July 30 and it was sent to Ottawa August. Now our file was transferred to LA, got an email dec 14 2010. Still doing the wating game. What should be the validity of the passport once they asked for passport request? Does it need to be more than 6 months?
In the light of other cases, I expect 2month waiting to get ppr

According to the passport request email that we got, it says the passports must be valid for at least six months. They may also accept passports valid less than 6 months but your PR visa will cease to be valid the day your passport expires. You can plan to do landing formalities before expiration of your passport.
PR visa is usually valid until 1 year from the date of your medicals.
