I am just wondering how many here that are sponsoring their spouse from India through delhi, have had to go through appeal process. What date did you won your appeal and how long you have had to wait for the next step, or if your still waiting or if you have completed the process and landed. Iam curious to know.

I am sponsoring my wife from India through CHC ND. I am just wondering why you had to appeal? Was your case complicated?
My husband was called for an interview because they wanted to make sure we had a genuine marriage.
We had a very difficult officer and she was very degrading and racists in her comments. My husband got very upset and was totally shocked from some of the things she said and his mind went totally blank and so she was convinced that he married me only for a visa. If our case had been heard by a different officer, we would never had to appeal. I had been two India several times before we got married and we had been in a relationship for 7 years at the time. It was just our luck we got this lady and I know of another woman whos husband went through the same kind of thing with the same officer and they got rejected. Our case was not complicate we just got a nasty lady thats all. I had a huge stack of proof, photos of wedding and our trips to places, and with relatives, so I dont know what she was looking for other than to make someone else miserable. There are many many nice officers there so hopefully your wife wont have to deal with the same one we did. We put in a complaint about her and from the email I received a note has been placed on her work record so maybe that will help others who didnt complain. Hope I didnt scare you.
Oh my god, Boyeeeee i am so glad u won Ur appeal and did complaint about her coz Ur this complaint may help other ppls.
there is no doubt few officers too rude and they sit with this mood that they have to reject them.
it will be so help full for us if u tell us that what king of Q. she was asking and how she trying to stuck him.
Thanks in advanced
I am a chubby gal not extremely so but not skinny either and although not a model I am no elephant man either lol and I am divorced. The officer said to my husband can I see your wedding pictures and my husband showed them to her. ( they were the same picitures we submitted with our application) She looked at the pictures and she said your wife is plumb I dont know what you could possibly love about her. My husband said I do love her she is beautiful in my eyes. She said no you dont, look at how she looks infront of you. No your not inlove with her look at her she is plump and divorced. My husband said Yes I do ever since I was a child I have like girls that were not thin and she looked and him and said No you dont! My husband was so upset at this point but was afriad to say too much thinking we might get rejected. She said to him I can see in your eyes as soon as you get to canada you will leave her, my husband said no I dont want to leave her I want to be with her I love her thats why I married her. My husband said isnt it my life and my choice? She said, well I can see because she is white and Indians chase after white skin, but I dont see what you could love in her. She said No Indian should marry a Canadian. My husband said she spent most of the interview degrading how I looked which really upset him deeply and he didnt know what to do. She argued with him about his religion. She said how can you be christian with a hindu name. Myhusband explained to her since generations his family has been christian but she fought with him on every subject. It was awful. I told a friend of mine that I was going to complain about her to the high commission and they said dont bother they wont reply because many people complain and no one responds. I said I dont care I just cant sit back while this goes on. So I wrote my email. A Mr. David Caron replied to me and he said that he would look into the matter. Of course it was a he said he said since they looked at her files of my husbands interview and said she didnt say anything that was unacceptable. However, they said they can not prove she said those things, but neither can they disprove she didnt say them. he further said that if she had said them then it was definitely inappropriate behaviour. They put a note on her file and she was told not to have such accusation against her again. (so I was told)
When I got the notes from the interview that my husband had, I was in shock, she said noted things that was not even true and and some thigns didnt even happen. So when I appealed our case I made sure that the letter from the High commision concerning that officer was included. And at the appeal I mentioned the letter and Mr. Carons response to what happened. It was a horrific experience and hopefully we wont have to go through this another year, but as I said. I am sure she will be working on our case now and I wonder if she will try to delay things in retaliation for my complaint. So thats my biggest worry. My husband and I just want to be together.

I am shacking my head after reading this...
Yes she even asked about our bedroom life. My husband was so embarassed since he is a shy man and its really not something to talk to a woman about that is not your wife.
I dont know what her problem was but we are the ones that have suffered because of her. If she was unsure about our relationship being genuine she didnt have to act like this nor did she have to ask such a deep question about our private life. So I am really worried that we are going to be delayed longer than usual because of my complaint, but as I said, I never want anyone to go through what we did. Its been an absolute nightmare.
Is it some sort of tactic they do to find out if the relationship is genuine or not...
I read some where that they take more time to process applications where husband or wife are from different culture and religion.
Anyway, Officer was not professional at all... :-[
I believe she was completely out of line. I am all for her asking questions to make sure of things thats her job, but I dont think she had a right to be mean and aggressive in her comments. Saying Indians shouldnt marry Canadians, makes me think her decision was more of her own personal opinion rather than based on her professional evaluation of the facts.
PS... I was told that after the appeal CBSA sends the appeal docs to Ottawa and from there sent to Delhi. Does anyone know how long the files stay in Ottawa and how long from there to New Delhi?
