Hi I have a question. We are newcomers hopefully arriving on November or December 2010. In my application I sttred there that I will land in Burnaby British Columbia, is it ok if we change it to Toronto? Do I have to inform the embassy? or we can just land to Toronto directly instead of Burnaby? We need to find jobs asap when were there na.
Yes, manitoba is a good place to land for starters, especially in the nursing area. U can check the details, seems like there are some incentives for nurses there, and also for those who wish to be re-trained as nurses. By the way, if u were a nurse elsewhere before, u would still need to be re-trained as a nurse and be registered, so winnipeg may be a good place to land.
Thanks Qorax!!! BTW, we decided to land in Manitoba and finish my rn registration there. can you tell me where I can find the IQAS application form? i cant open it in my laptop and my internet connection is very slow... :-[
Hi Qorax, can you please advice me on the following scenario.
1- I am a customer service/call center professional with 6 years of relevant experience in banking/Telecom sector.
2- My wife is a special educationist with 4 years of experience of working with children with special needs (autism, cerebral palsy, MR etc)
which city would give us better options keeping in perspective our professional skills and potential to land quick jobs...........
I searched a bit and for customer services it seems to be Toronto while Special education seems to have vacancies almost everwhere even in Yukon... In Yukon they pay quite a lot of money...

Call Centre: Jobs galore everywhere. It'd be the minimum wages though for the starters. And your English accent must be perfectly good. A know of French could fetch u a job much faster.
Special Education: Unfortunately, tough call to get a job initially, until she clears some Canadian edn. It's a regulated occupation here.
Yukon & NW Territories: Yes, the pay is higher as no one wants to go there. Inhospitable terrain, most of it.
