Nahhh you will get that letter after submitting your file at vfs that call student acknowledgeacknowledgement letter and it provideprovides information of your application number and your unique client identifier so you can link your application online and you can get info.about your application.

did you applied PG or UG, if UG then you need PG diploma and solid SOP.

Hi guys I applied on 24 April online from Chandigarh online got confirmation email on 25th April that your account has been updated.. waiting and hoping that will get in next week..my college is Niagara college.. Be positive everyone visa will come in next week. They have started to give out Visa those who have applied after April 15. My friend applied on April 20 and received on may 6 online. So be positive ours is going to come soon.

That seems quick. Most people apply and don't even get their application started until the next day. Anyway, I was asking the OP is he had got his student visa...not if he could. His IELTS may be an issue as it is very low, but hopefully he gets it.

If we applied online

That letter will give you application number, uci number so you can check your application status by using gckey account but if you haven't get that mail then also you can check your application by using passport details .

However, I do want to know how you linked your profile online because when I created my account on gckey and tried to link my profile it is throwing error "no aplications found based on your criteria".

Please suggest how to link that successfully.
P.S. - I do not have the application number. Tried using name and dob option in drop down.

1) Go to this link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
2) Select: continue to Gckey
3)Select: Sign up on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
4)After creating my cic account, click link application to this account.
5)Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study permit and extension.
6)Then select Family name,given name and date of birth option.
7)Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth.
8)Next in applicant personal info fill passport information only and DONOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
9) Fill program start and end date as well as DLI number of the institution (found in offer letter)
10) Your application will be found and can be linked.
11) You can get real time updates on your paper application.
In case of any doubts drop comments below.
