I checked our eCas yesterday, needing to print whatever was shown as proof that our sponsorship application had been received by CIC.
Under the Sponsorship section, it showed this:
1. We received your application to sponsor [xxxx] on December 23, 2013
2. We started processing your application on January 23, 2014
Does these simply mean `processing' was just a brief examination of the documents, and then put in the ~10 month queue before sponsor would be approved?
The email that we received (on January 24, 2014) simply said that our application(s) had been received on December 23, 2013. We thought that this was our AOR date.

I think I answered this too briefly last time you asked this.Seems like you already know the answer to your first question, they sometimes start doing background and security checks while your app. is in queue that's why some people get first and second stage approved at the same time so, chances are they are still working on your file during these initial 9 months.
Your AOR date is January 24,2014 this is just a date doesn't matter in terms when you will be processed, all it means is you received confirmation that your required documents are present in the app. on this date. But, you are a December applicant so, your app. will be processed when Dec. applicants are being processed. Hope this helps!
Thanks Guri, I did see your reply to my question in the Inland 2013 thread, but...
In my post, `1' isn't a question. I'm just showing what the sponsorship side of eCas shows two line items, regarding our application.
Hmmm..I haven't received my FBI PCC yet, so if they're conducting background and security checks (on applicant) there's nothing that was submitted.
Like some Inland applicants, we sent the application without PCC, but included a note indicating that it had been ordered and will be forwarded upon receipt.

Oh no, the first question I was referring to was :
Does these simply mean `processing' was just a brief examination of the documents, and then put in the ~10 month queue before sponsor would be approved?
I just realised that was the only question
Regarding your PCC, you will have enough time to send it in and hopefully they will start the security checks right away. Good luck!
