What happens if my PR application is never picked up from the pool?

I will be applying for PR next month and I'm collecting as much information as I can. Hence, this question out of curiosity.
What actually happens if my application has never been picked up from the pool? I mean, it's a draw, isn't it? So if that happens, will my application stay in the pool until it 's picked up?

Yes, up to 12 months . If after 1 year your are not invited, your profile will be deleted and you you have to create another one.

It's a "draw", not a draw. Its not a lottery. You get "drawn" if your score is high enough.

after 12 months, your profile expires and you can open a new one.

Open a new one without having to spend money again ?

There is no fee for creating an EE profile.

You may have to get a new language test or ECA though.

Language test results are valid for two years, ECAS for five.
