Hi Guys,

Received PR Status/Card in 2012.
At the time I was working a certain job and in a Common law Sponsorship.

Fast Forward 4 years later, We recently broke up and I am now Self Employed.

My PR Card Will Expire in 2017, I have been in Canada the whole time.

To renew my PR Card do they care who I'm dating or what job I have? Or Is Renewing the PR Card a little easier than actually applying for and being approved for PR Status?

Alternatively, Should I just apply for Citizenship?
( I wasn't sure if to Apply for Citizenship I needed to be in a Common Law Relationship Still or what )

1. All that IRC cares about is that you have resided in Canada for 2 years in the previous 5 years when you apply to renew your PR card and that you can prove it.
2. To apply for citizenship you have to prove you have resided in Canada in 4 of the previous 6 years on the date you apply. Again IRC doesn't care about your personal life.
