I have been with my partner for three years in June 09. We have talked communicated by talking over the internet and I am wanting to move in with him to Canada. I live in the UK.
I am having a few problems.
1. I am wanting to get married to him and get a spousal visa but the forms that I have viewed that I have to fill in are a bit of a problem. Both of my parents are alive and one of the forms requires that you fill in information about that. Specifically: passport numbers, which my parents don't want to give me.
Do I have to fill out there passport information or can I leave it blank?
2. Also, the way I'm wanting to do this is to go to Canada, get married in a small registry office so I can stay with my partner.
We are opposite sex.
How would i go about this? Do I fill out the forms for the visa first and then get married or get married and then fill out the forms?
Also, is there any age limit for a marraige visa, do you have to be above a certain age?
Hi,
1. I dont think you will need to include your parents details if you are not sponsoring them. I marked the sheet as N/A as i was not sponsoring them.
2. I am not sure if its better to get married first and then apply for your permanant residence but if your partner is sponsering you should be married or be qualified as conjugal partner. See this link it will help you a lot.

3. As long as you are an adult (16+ years, legal age to marry in UK) you can get married.
ok. so question 10 and 11 on IMM344EA 'Application for sponsor and undertaking are:
10.Are you an:
Canadian citizen YES NO Became a citizen on:
Permanent resident YES NO Became a permanent resident on:
for someone who was born in canada what do they answer to this question?
Also
11.If you are a permanent resident or a naturalized Canadian citizen, give the name of the country where you application for permanent residence was processed:
again for someone who was born in canada how do they answer this question?
If you are a Canadian citizen by birth, write YES to canadian citizen and write the date you became one as your birthdate. Permanent resident write NO because you are a citizen, not a PR. For 11. write N/A or skip it.
