Hi, I had my PG Diploma assessed a few days ago and thought I'd share my results for people who were in my place some time ago.
BTEC Postgraduate Diploma from Pearson through a management school in Sharjah, UAE. It was weekly lecture and assignments-based diploma that took around 10 months for me to complete.

Name: BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership - 120 Credits.

WES Assessment: College-level postgraduate certificate (one year)

Hi Guys really appreciate if you could assist me with below as its causing a dilemma for me.

First of all, I have done my HND and bachelors. My HND containing 240 credits was assessed from WES as a Canadian equivalency two years however the institute is NOT recognized. My Bachelors was assessed as 4 years and the institute was recognized. I was informed that because the HND was from a non recognized institution, I will not be able to claim the maximum points as "two or more certificates" please confirm its true? If its true, how do we know where we can do a HND where the institute will be recognized by WES?

Secondly, I am planning to do a PGD level 7 after my bachelors delivered by OTHM containing 120 credits. my concern is, what if WES once again says the institute is not recognized? when they refer "institute" do they mean the awarding body institute or the local institute where you studied? How will I know if OTHM will be assessed as a recognized institute along with one year Canadian equivalency in order for me to claim the "two or more certificates" points?

Finally does WES assess the qualification based on credits or duration of programme? if its on credits, does the start or end date really matter when assessing it as a one or two year diploma?

Hi All,

I have only sent the my Top-up degree information to WES and not the pearson information due to this COVID19. They have evaluated it as 4 Year undergraduate degree. However, in the transcript I have only one year worth of units 2016-2017. Now when I try to register they are asking
1. Number of academic years completed?
2. Since when to until?
3. Country of education?
How should I answer these? Should I say I studies 3 years and include the pearson time or just say 1 year as in the transcript?. I started Pearson 2014 and finished in 2016 and started my top up 2016 and ended in 2017. So in total little bit more than 3 years. However, since I do not have transcript for WES from 2014 to 2015, I am wondering what to do.
I do have a Cardiff Met masters from 2018-2019 so I am sure I can put that as 1 year easily. But the BA, I am not sure. Can you please help?

I did a top up MBA from UK, my degree has been sent for evaluation but WES says it includes only 1 subject, so I sent my PRE MBA diploma transcripts which is accepted but degree certificate still shows on hold, what shall I do?

Take a chill pill, your Canadian equivalency will show as masters. WES has asked your the level 7 diploma subjects to verify if you have achieved 120 Uk credits.

Dont do anything to your WES profile as of now, just keep following up with WES and inform them on calls or WES forms thats its a top up MBA which is usually the case in the UK (WES is aware about it)

Hi the status still says on hold. Even after they have accepted my level 7. Do I need to tell them specifically that’s it’s a top up mba?? How can I do that??

why did you send only your MBA in the first place ??

Remember everyone on this thread, UK 180 Credits will be given Canadian Master's Equivalency.

If you send only the top up degree of 60 Credits and Ignore the 120 Credits Diploma, how will your ECA happen with WES??

It is because of these silly mistakes that WES is struggling to keep up with the turn around times.

Your case is on hold because they will have to redo everything from the beginning now since you did not submit both the credentials at the same time.

The only solution is , raise a WEB form, be honest and inform WES everything in detail and ask them to prioritize.

(Which university did you do your top up MBA from and which awarding body gave your diploma?)

I have raised a ticket with WES, informed then on call as well. They have forwarded my request to the concern department saying it’s a top up MBA and diploma transcripts is the doc they were waiting for. And also, I did send them my level 7 diploma transcripts as well, but it came from Pearson and they took around 4 months to issue it, while my MBA degree didn’t take long. Degree is from Uni of wales, Newport and diploma from Pearson.

i have a BTEC Level 3 (National Diploma) (2 years) and I topped it off with Advance Diploma (Higher National Diploma - 2 Years) in Dubai. May I know if this will pass in the ECA at WES? Is there another governing body who could give me a higher rate?

Hi there,

I have completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from the University of Westminster (UK). I am going to do the BCS Professional Graduate Diploma in IT.

I would like to know what that program will be equal to in the WES criteria. Also, do i need to do the BCS PGD in IT final project to be eligible to apply or is the Professional Graduate Diploma sufficient?

Hello members. Creating this thread to discuss and clarify concerns with regards to WES ECA for the following:

• Pearson BTEC HNC/HND (QCF Level 5/ Level 4)
• UK Top Up Degrees (Level 6 120 Credits)
• BCS (HEQ) qualifications (including BCS Dip/PGD Project)
• MBA/ Masters Degrees completed in UK or partner universities (Level 7)

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I do not have my Bachelors degree with me, and trying to obtain that can take me many many months. I wanted to know if WES would evaluate my Level 7 Diploma alone without submitting any prior education documents?
