I went to the Embassy first thing in the morning yesterday. Walked in, handed in my e-mail, passport and 2 photos for the COPR and waited about 45min and walked out with the COPR One of the happiest day of my life so far! Going to land on Oct 8th in Toronto.
How long did you guys take to go thorugh the immigration? I won't be bringing much money or material goods...

My husband landed in TO at Pearson in June - took him 20 minutes to get through immigration, even considering that the airline lost his luggage, which had a few material things in it. They said not to worry about it, didn't seem to care. So he verbally told them what he was bringing, and they just filled out the app for the PR card and he was done.
We were both on our way back from Warsaw at the same time - on different flights, so he landed two hours before me and was waiting when I arrived.
Glad to hear your file is moving along.
As to whether that means no interview, I really wouldn't want to disappoint you here, but I would not be making that assumption because there have been many cases where people would attend an interview and be issued a visa on the spot. Which means a background check would've been done way before they're invited to attend. That said, there's always a chance that it won't be necessary in the end. - Good luck!

Congratulations on that, annakon! - It was a pretty lengthy process for ya, but what really matters is that it's finally over. Yay!
Welcome to Canada! ;D
