Hi fellows,
I am in ip2 for the past 4 months now, rprf already paid after cic request.
Just now i got the email (through my consultant) that my husband needs to renew his passport and send cpc-ctd the scan copy of the bio page. By the way there are still 7 months left to his passport expiry.
Does any one else have a similar experience here??? What it could mean?

You need to have a passport with a validity of atleast 12 months from the date of the PPR mail. That could be the reason why they asked you to renew your spouse's passport. For more information, you can search for a PPR mail format and you can see this as a requirement mentioned under the Passport Requirements.

Hi, passport validity is minimum 6 month is must as per PPR email and not 12 months, please cross check once.. but it always better to have more than 12 months validity, in my case when I had submitted and received AOR on 18th December 2017 my passport was valid for 12 months, now I am in IP2 since Feb 27th 2018.. one year from the date of medical test done will be actually your validity of the visa for Travel once you are given PPR and the same can’t be beyond your passport expiry date as well, please let me me know if you have any further feedback on this, thanks

Oh okay, then one of my friend had received PPR has only 6 months validity mentioned on that email from NDVO, i guess this validity varies for different countries as in India one can’t renew passport before 12 months from the date of expiry, but you can if you are already used up all pages..
I have seen below
1. Visa can’t be placed on diplomats and military officers
2. You must have at least two blank pages in your passport
3. Visa can’t be given beyond your passport expiry date and your passport must be valid for six months.

I checked again the PPR sent by CPC-O, requesting passport to be sent to VFS India. Yes, it is stated 6 months validity.
PPR letter from SGVO:
Before you submit your passport(s):
o Check that there are at least two (2) blank pages in each passport.
o Check that you have ordinary passports. Permanent resident visas for Canada cannot be issued in Diplomatic or Official passports.
o Check the expiry date of all passports. Passports should be valid for at least twelve (12) months.
CPC-O RFV email (for NDVO):
Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.
There must be at least two blank pages in each passport.
We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months.
