so, i sent a case specific enquiry this morning as planned and this is the reply I got.

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

The status of your case is as indicated below:

Your application is still active and under review. We have received your payment for right of permanent resident fees. There are no other documents required at this time.
Please do not contact us for another status request until we completed the review of your application. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this mater. Please quote your file number in all correspondence.

They really highlighted that sentence in bold letters! LOL ;D

In my experience the embassy is really following their timeline, they give the maximum number of waiting time but mostly they are early in their given schedule.

seems like they are already on "Holiday Season mode", eversince Thanksgiving Day in the US, I have not read of someone who got PPR or anything from VOs in the US, be it Buffalo, LA, Detroit, etc.
