Hi, guys. It's been 2 1/2 months since the results of our medical exam were forwarded by St Luke's Clinic to the embassy. We've been waiting for the passport request but it seems that the wait will be extended till the new year. Here's our time line:
March 2008--application lodged in Manitoba
March 2009--Letter of Approval arrived in the Phils
May 14, 2009--submitted application for Permanent Residence visa together will all necessary docs to the embassy
September 8, 2009--request for medical exam arrived with request for additional docs (high school permanent records and baptismal cert.)
September 15, 2009--underwent medicals at St Luke's
September 23, 2009--medical exam results forwarded by clinic to the embassy
September 28, 2009--submitted additional docs to the embassy
NOW -- waiting for PPR...
I wonder what's taking it so long for the embassy to respond. Could this have something to do with the priority assessment being given to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy?
Hoping to hear from fellow applicants esp. those who are also waiting for their PPR. Good luck to us!

Hi, sammy. Your PPR must be on its way. Manila probably had to confer with immigration people in Manitoba for a final decision re your newborn. My cousin had the same case. Processing took less than two months, actually. They informed Manila about the new baby in October '08 and received the passports stamped with visas in December '08.
Good luck to all of us. Everything will fall into place in God's time.

We're on the same timeline. I also received my PPR via e-mail last Dec. 22. But they are asking for new brown-color passpor (machine readable) and my availble passport is green-color. I just re-new my passport this Dec29 and I can receive it by January13. How About you? did you submitt your passport already? Please keep me posted for any developments of your application. Thanks.
I'm also worried that there maybe some problems arise while we're waiting for VISA after we submitt passport to embassy. Do you think is there a possibility that application for Canada maybe jeopardize and VISA may not be released in 3months of waiting again after submitting the passport?
Hi, Anabelle. We submitted our brown ('red' as they call it) passports on dec 29 via LBC. Since the email mentioned our visa will be valid until September 15, 2010 (which is the date of our medical exam), I assume that we'll have our passports back with visas stamped on them by march at the latest.
