Hi Legalfalcon,
Thank you that you are sharing your deep knowledge with everybody.
I have a question: For inland applications, you state "the BGC goes in progress soon after the AoR and remains in progress until the application is closed". I am an inland PNP applicant. After I passed the medicals my BGC changed to "in progress", but after a couple of days it turned to "not needed this time". Can you explain this situation? Is it normal?
Thank you very much in advance.
I think it will again change to in process after they are finished with your paper work and you will get ppr in a week or two, this is what happening these days in most of the cases

I got AOR on 29th Sept, 2016. Medical is passed and BGC is not needed at this time. They didn't ask any additional documents just like others schedule 4 or schedule A. Is this normal? My work permit status is over and I have applied visitors visa under restoration.

When your status changes to in progress, it simply means that you application has been sent to CSIS for back ground check. The criminality is passed based on your PCC. But the BGC is conducted by CSIS, which is the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. They conduct a thorough background check and give their report. During this time they look into their systems, international data bases, and other means of verifying your identity and your connections, if any, with ant unlawful organizations.
