Visitor visa vs Visitor record, what's the different?

I'm an international student in Canada, I have extended my Study Permit and now applying to Extend my Visa as well. I want to check the processing time but I'm not sure which one is my case
1. Visitor Visa (from inside Canada)
2. or Visitor Extension (Visitor Record)

You need to apply for a new TRV so the answer is #1. TRV allows you to travel to Canada.

thanks for the reply, ye I just found out that the TRV is basically visitor visa
