Hi

I like to share timeline for my parents visitor visa below

1. Submitted Kolkata VFS - May 30th , 2016 ( paper application)
2. Application reached Delhi Embassy - May 31st, 2016
3. MYCIC status said application approved - July 4th, 2016
4. Passport dispatched to Kolkata VFS- July 4th, 2016
5. Passport arrived and collected at Kolkata VFS -July 6th, 2016

Asked for six month visa in application - Visa given till expiry of the passport ( 2024), multiple entry.

Hi, is medical examination required for a visitor ?

No Medical was not required for my case. However while reviewing this forum , I noticed some said they were asked for medical even for Tourist visa. So it depends on the visa officer if they feel a need.
