I tried calling the number on the website for Canada and couldn't get through. So hopefully someone can help.
I am a Canadian citizen living in Nicaragua. I have been here over a year now. I want to go back for Christmas this year. I just had a baby, who is of course part Canadian too, and I'm assuming based off requirements, once I apply he will get his citizenship too. That takes 5 months based off their website though. I want to take him home to meet my family when we go for Christmas.
My question is, since he won't get his citizenship in time I'm assuming, as he is Nicaraguan with a Nicaraguan passport, do I have to apply for a visitor visa for him?
We will be going back for a month. Maybe 2. And then returning to Nicaragua. I don't know if because he's younger he's just allowed to come with me? (I'm assuming not, as this is Canada and they're paranoid about people staying illegally)
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks guys

So he CAN'T travel on a Nica passport? As in he cannot come with me unless I have his certificate of Canadian citizenship?
I sincerely hope you're not saying my baby cannot travel with me just because he's half Nica and half Canadian and won't have his citizenship in time.
I mean, if we have to go through the huge process of trying to get an adult over on a visitor visa, surely you're able to do that for your own child?

Oh I understand he's got to have a Canadian passport. Totally. He's Canadian. He can't just go into Canada without documents. BUT because the processing times of the citizenship are probably going to take longer than 5 months, And I want him to be able to go home for Christmas, can I just apply for him to come with me on a visitor visa traveling from Nicaragua?
I applied for one for my partner (his dad) last Christmas. It was denied, but, can I essentially do the same thing for baby? Because he's dual? Or BECAUSE he's dual can he only enter Canada as a Canadian and not a Nicaraguan?
Sorry to be confusing as hell.
Do I apply for the limited validity passport while I'm applying for the citizenship? Or do the passport first? And where can I find the limited validity option?

As a Canadian citizen, dual or not, he is ineligible for any form of Temporary Resident Visa (eg. visitor). An application should be automatically denied.

Hello everybody.
Can someone help me
I have 3 kids. I have applied for citizenship and passport for 2 of them . Due to me being away from Egypt and working in Canada . I couldn’t get a chance to apply for my youngest who is 3 years old.
I sent a message to the consular in cairo for my to apply for a citizenship and limited validity passport for him as there is an emergency and my and my wife are planning to leave soon . They replied saying I can’t which is protocol I understand.
The thing is it’s not logic how can I leave my 3 year old Behind until he receives his citizenship which will take more than 8 months. Side note he’s not Egyptian descent and doesn’t have any other documents to travel with. There has to be an exemption due to circumstances
Please Help anybody ?!?

The thing is he doesn’t have another passport.
Can I call cic and try to explain my case and get them to send a message to the embassy for an exemption?
