I have applied for my mother's visitor visa to come to Canada. She is in India, I have submitted all documents on September 16th online, but so far I have not received any message except for online payment confirmation and transmission. I remember in the past when I did the paper application through agent it took only 4 days to get the results of approval. But why online takes such long time? I did the online submission because I thought it is faster this way and my mom doesn't need to go through any hassle in doing paper application.
Can someone tell me is this normal to have no response? Is paper application faster than online?
It shows 14 working days processing time and they are working on Sept 6 application as last status shows. So you should hear sometime next week.
I am planning to apply for visitor visa for my wife with online application. Can you please let me know what documents did you submit for your mother's application? Just wondering weather do we need to submit only required documents or all unnecessary documents which we submit with paper based application?

First thing I want to ask you that how did you know that they are working on Sep 6th application? Can you provide a link?
You need to submit with required forms with following:
- Travel History
- Passport
- Invitation Letter explaining that you will be responsible for all her expenses and health insurance
- Proof of Means of Financial Support
- Digital photo
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate in your case)
- Application for Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) Made Outside of Canada
(IMM5257)
- Family Information (IMM5645)
- I got recommendation letter from my local Member of parliament (this will help you a lot)
- Book a temporary Air booking to show that you are serious to bring your wife
- If she is working then ask her to provide that document so that they know that she will go back.
go to cic.gc..ca/english/information/times
here is processing time link and I hope you applied from Canada not from India.
If you apply from canada, its showing 14 working days
Thanks for this but quick question about it...regardless of if I submit from Canada or India I have an impression that it all goes to one location? isn't it? Which is why I am confused about processing times..

Hi
What do they mean by (applying from inside Canada)??
I am outside of Canada.
1) Can I send all my documents to someone in Canada so he can apply from inside.
2) what about the fingerprints???
3) if I applied either ways, when usually they will ask for my passport??
Thank you
I applied from Canada online on Sep 16th and got a request to submit my mother's passport on Oct 5th. I also hope it's multiple entry visa, the passport is valid until 2024..
