Hi all,
I'm sure it has been asked before and apologies for repeating it here .
I'm going to get married in Punjab, India this November. I'm curious if I could apply for my future spouse's visitor visa (and what is the success rate of getting a visitor visa) so she can come along while we wait for her PR application to get processed. I'm a Permanent Resident in BC , working and my fiancee is an IT Engineer working for a private firm in Mohali.
Just browsing to see if somebody is in the same boat or somebody could provide some advice.

Apply now for a TRV. It can be very difficult to get one after you are married and sponsor her. Avoid telling them she is coming to be with you as a fiancé (or wife).
Wrong advice! That's lying and could count against her PR app. If she is caught at any stage, she can be barred for 5 years.
I agree applying for a TRV first is a good idea. She should go ahead and declare that she is going to visit her fiance (I did that, and I received a 10 year visa without any issues.)
But make sure that she demonstrates:
1. That a TRV is intended for a brief visit.
2. That she has strong ties to her home country.
3. That she has enough funds for the trip.
It's OK to have immigration intent (read up on dual intent), but for the TRV visa purposes, she needs to demonstrate that she will use the visa for tourism purposes and fulfills the above 3 conditions. All her previous apps would be scrutinized when she applies for the PR. I strongly advise against making any false statements.

Thank you for the resposne . So did you get a sponsorship letter from your Canadian fiance at the time and did your provide any evidences for the relationship at the time ?
Yes, with the same template on the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.asp
