I applied for my mother's visitor visa extension online in August 2016 and still have not received anything except an email saying they received it. According to CIC processing time it is taking 114 days and they are working on applications received on November 24, 2015. Anyone else waiting this long for the extension? Is there anything that I can do to follow up? Please advise, thank you!
I applied for my mother in law extension on 14 march 2016 and she got approved 4 April 2016. I don't know why your is taking that long. they even sent the visitor record which I received 2 days ago.I applied online. The only thing she has to do is medical examination and she did it today.

Yes, August 2015 and I applied online. Her visa was stamped till September 15, 2015 so I applied on August 1, 2015. No response as of yet, this is very unusual. I keep getting emails every month saying there is no update on it. Is there anything I can do to talk to them?

you should ask them what happened with your application, as you say thats to much time.
I arrive to canada on October 24 2015, so my status as visitor expired on April 23.
And I apply online for a extension on April 19, and by my surprise i get an email from CIC on April 27 that they say my application is approved, only take 8 days!!!!!
and the email say they will send a letter my mail between 6 weeks.
i expect it will delay 5 month as they say, but i think it was fast because we apply for family sponsorship (send application on february by mail, and no answer yet)
i already check the mailbox this morning April 29 and i found the letter from CIC Vegreville with the Certificate visitor record of my son, not mine we apply the same day. (they say 6 weeks but only take 2 days).
