VISITOR RECORD. HOW LONG?

Hi everyone. I arrived in Canada in the 9th of sept. I applied for my visitor record a week later. My fiancé is sponsoring me for perm residence. I’m applying for the open work permit too. I don’t think I’ll get the work permit within 6 months so I did my visitor record.
Just wondering how long others have been waiting lately for visitor records. On their website they are saying around 5-6 months. My current status is for 6 months only. I’m hoping I get the visitor record back quickly and I don’t have to do down the restoration path.

You have implied status on the visitor record application so you can remain in Canada even if it takes more than six months.

Hi, Can you please share the link of the government page that you are mentioning that explains you can stay as long as you are waiting for visitor record even if it is more than 6 months? Thank you so much in advance for your help.
