Visitor Record Letter of Explanation

Hi there,

My study permit is expiring soon, but I need additional months to improve my IELTS for my express entry. I have to apply visitor record to extend my stay, and I'm worried about the success rate of the visitor record and what should I write on the letter of explanation in order to get a six month visitor record.
Did anyone got visitor record before? Can you share some information with me please?

If you enroll in an ESL program which is less than 6 months, you can apply for a visitor based on that.

I'm studying IELTS myself...is it possible to get 6 months visitor record with this reason?

Also consider CELPIP if you are in Canada anyway.
