I will be applying for a visitor record as my PGWP has expired and extension application has been refused. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences applying for a visitor record. What are the do's and dont's of the application?

Is it necessary to add a letter of explanation?

If your PGWP has expired and your extension refused, then you are in Canada without status and will need to apply to restore your status. How long ago were you refused?

Hi! I am within the 90 day application window. I was refused in July.

Ideally you would have applied to restore your status right away after losing your status vs. waiting.

I would recommend you submit the application asap. You'll want to explain how much longer you are requesting to stay in Canada under visitor status and your reasons for wanting to stay longer. You should also that you have sufficient funds to pay for your longer stay in Canada.

There will be no pgwp extension, govt. has already announced it! am going to apply for visitor record.
