Hi,

I have applied for my mother's application for extending the stay in Canada since her 6 months period was getting expired. I got the application no. from CIC and she is under "Implied Status" . She has a multiple visa for Canada expiring in November 2017. Please confirm if she can visit US for couple days and come back into Canada?

Possible scenarios:

1) She is accepted, her extension is honoured.
2) She is accepted, her extension is void, she is given up to 6 months (may be less).
3) She is refused.

All of them can happen and are possible.

I also have same case. I want to apply for visa extension of my mother. Can you tell me that what are the major factors/supporting documents which will increase the chances of being visa approved ?

It is evaluated on a case to case basis.

Usually CIC wants to make sure she is a genuine visitor, that is, she is not claiming to be a visitor when she is actually LIVING in Canada.
