Hi everyone, so my husband finally became a PR as of Dec 14, we are waiting for the card in the mail. He is a citizen of Mexico and we would like to take a trip to the US, he way overstayed his visit (by 15 years) there previously, he left the country and heard nothing about being barred (although he most likely is). Is it at all possible to visit the US while having PR in Canada and most likely being barred from the US?

He needs a visa to enter the US as a visitor since he holds a Mexican passport.
Due to the length of his overstay, he was automatically banned from the US for 10 years as soon as he left. If it's been less than 10 years since he left the US, the needs to away from the border. The US takes overstays very seriously and he could end up being detained if he attempts a re-entry while banned. Note that this ban will remain in place even after he becomes a Canadian citizen.
