There is no rule that she has to visit you or your country of residence. Who told you this, and what was the context? And what country are you from?
However, as the above poster noted, having her visit you would provide evidence that the relationship is genuine. The more visits you have with each other, and the more time you spend together, the more likely it is that the visa officer processing your application will believe the marriage is real.
a gal her sister knows married a guy from the states and her sis told her she had to go visit a couple times,, its news to me and makes no sense so ty for answering ,, I am from the US also
People are often misinformed about immigration matters. It could be a consultant or lawyer told the woman that going to visit would help prove the relationship was real, and she misinterpreted this to mean she had to go visit.
Now if it is an online relationship, for example, I would agree the parties have to visit each other, and not just once to get married, because if they don't visit the visa officer will be very suspicious. This is not an immigration "rule", though, it is just advice.
