Hi - I got married in Canada last week and our papers will be filed by the end of the month once we receive marriage certificate. I don't need a visitor visa to enter Canada and I am planning on visiting in April. When I arrive should I be upfront and state that I am visiting my wife or just say girlfriend? Should I take proof to show my intention to return to the UK? I will be booking a return flight and I could take a letter from work or proof of house ownership etc. Is there a chance that they will not let me in?

Thanks....yay my first post!

1. Don't lie, it can result in misrepresentation and garner a 2 year ban. The CBSA officer has access to your Immigration file, so s/he will know that you have a spouse in Canada.
2. Have are return ticket and proof that you will return to the UK.

They always tend to look at me crazy when I say I'm going to visit my husband in Canada and always follow it with, "How in the world do you have a husband living in Canada?" But thats it, never had any real trouble.
