Visiting canada and married

Leon, if I visit there, get married, then the PR application is in the process "inland", can the beneficial go to school? Since the work permit takes about 5-6 months to get and I don't want to be free doing nothing there.

On a visit visa, you are allowed to take courses less than 6 months. Otherwise, you would need a study permit.

In some cases, you do not require a study permit to go to school in Canada.

* If you wish to study in a short-term course or program
You do not need a study permit if you plan to take a course or program in Canada that lasts six months or less. You must complete the course or program within the period authorized for your stay in Canada.

First you are assuming that you will actually get a visit visa to go to Canada to get married. Many people are denied and have to apply outland because of that. Then you are assuming that you can change your visit visa (which you don't have yet) to a study permit. Immigration officers are not supposed to give you any kind of temporary visa unless they believe you are leaving at the end of it. Not to say that you can't try but there might be some problems here. Maybe you should go for a study visa before you get married.

Yes, a PR in Canada doesn't mean anything for the US so she would still need a visa to visit you.

how does it work for Canada for the PR holder in the US?

US green card holders do not need a visit visa to go to Canada.

I agree with Halifax-Maple that azndude said nothing that would indicate that he is marrying this woman only to gain PR status and you guys ought to be ashamed of yourselves for making such accusations.
