Visiting Canada for 5 days by plane

Dear Experts,

I am planning to visit Canada for 5 days to apply for PR card. I am flying from US to Toronto. I am giving my friend's mailing address for PR card to be mailed out.

My question is:

Is it true that I need to make travel documents if I leave Canada before I get my PR card? I am hearing from some people that at the airport, I will be checked the travel documents while leaving and I will not be permitted to leave if I do not have it.

As far as I know, one can leave Canada by air without travel documents but to re-enter Canada without PR card requires to apply for travel documents in Canadian Consulate in US.

You can leave anytime, even without PR Card , no questions asked.

yes what you thought is correct. Nobody can force you from leaving canada. But while re-entering canada you need a travel document/PR card

If you are holding a US passport, you can re-enter Canada without travel document

I do not have US passport, I am in H1b status in US and I have H1b stamped passport.

If you are holding passport from any visa-exempted countries (such as Japan and Hong Kong SAR), you still can enter Canada without the travel document.
