Visa under spp at vfs chandigarh

Is there any delay in decision if we change our notifications email on cic.gc.ca . Yesterday i linked my mail with my application and as my agent had his email on my application for notifications it got changed to mine yesterday . But today my agent called me and told me that now its not their responsibility if decison gets delayed . I told them that i was worried and want to know about my status so i did that . But they are saying i did wrong thing by linking my email with the application. I am very much worried now.
