My parents want to visit me for a period of 1 to 2 months every year (during the summer). I will be taking care of their expenses (lodging, food, visitor insurance etc.) while they are visiting.
1) Do I have the option of applying for the regular multiple-entry visiting visa for my parents (instead of the super-visa)? They do not want to stay more than 2 months.
2) The section on 'Family member definitions (see the link below) does not explicitly state parents. Does this means that:
A) parents can not apply for the regular multiple-entries visa, and
B) parents are restricted to applying just for the super-visa?
Yes your parents can apply for a TRV. CIC will determine whether it will be multi-entry and for how long. Your parents have to prove that they can support their own travel and that they have the extra funds to travel without depleting a large portion of their savings. They will also have to prove strong ties to their home country.
