visa issued:) but still a few questions about landing.

hey my husband just got this email saying theyare ready to issue his visa, i just have a few questions to clear up.

1. where they say jan 11th does this mean he has until jan 11th to travel or does it mean they will make his visa jan11th?
2. it says send it with dhl but we are very close to the embassy and would like to take it there ourselves, is this possible?
3. how long does my huabsnd have to be in canada total as he needs to return to egypt for a few exams. i know to get the PR card takes about a month, does he have to be there for this time or can he travel a couple weeks after he lands without recieving his PR card?

help would be muchhhhhh appreacited as we only have a couple of weeks to figure this out, thanks)





We are pleased to inform you that we will be ready to issue your immigrant visa as of January, 2011. In this respect, you are kindly requested to send us your passport by courier. Once visa issued, passport will be returned to you by DHL courier and you will be required to pay the courier fees to DHL representative.

Kindly note that your medical results are valid until 11 January, 2011.

Visa expiry date will be one year from his medical results. He will have to land before 11th of January, so the time is tight. They say they will issue a visa as of January, my guess is that your husband will get it in January, b/c of Holiday season.

You have to contact embassy to discuss the possibility of the drop-in, and, if you are lucky, pick up as well.

As for PR card, he may leave Canada without it, but must have it to return back to Canada, so either you should send it somehow to him. Theoretically he can request Canadian Embassy for a special document to return to Canada w/o PR card, but this may be complicated, so avoid it at all costs.

thank you so much for answering! do you think its okay if we go there tomorrow with the passport and ask if its okay to drop it off or is it better to call first?
its just really tough because if i understand correctly they will issue it in jan and he has to be in canada jan 11th and i dont want it to get lost in the mail as egypt dosnt have the best mailing system ...yikes!
