Would you mind answering to my question below.
It looks like your medical test was done Mar/Apr, 2009. As per the Canadian embassy procedures, the PR visa is only valid till one year from the date your last medical test has been done. In such case did the embassy ask you to take a second medical test?
Also on similar lines did the embassy require you to produce police clearance certifcate more than once?

I was not asked to redo medical / I was not asked to submit police certificate (thankfully).
I am given less than a year for my visa expiry cos I am already in Canada and my medical are expired.
I got them the same day. A friend of mine took them in person to the embassy for stamping. When you take your passports in person (or send them with a representative , you get them stamped right away and you go home happily with them.
