Hi everyone,
Which Visa Option should I choose to attend a Conference (an attendee and not a speaker or organizer)? Among all the options given on IRCC portal, the following two options are the closest:
1) Visiting as a Tourist
2) For business reasons, like a meeting, conference, event or training
The second choice seems obvious but under Optional Documents Upload, it asks for Employment letter from an employer in CANADA. So looks like the second option is for Conference organizers or speakers etc. Please advice.

You need to attach letter to attend conference from your employer or Canadian Organisation with your name, purpose and dates of conference

Thank you for your reply and time. There is already a field to upload conference Invitation letter under Mandatory Documents and i have already uploaded that. And again under Optional documents there is a field to upload Employer Letter from Canada. That is why I am confused. Shall i just leave it as it is optional?

sorry to bother you again. Can you share what all documents did you upload? On my application, only Invitation letter, Proof of Funds and Passport is asked. do you think I should upload more documents? like the my indian employer letter and travel history - visa stamps etc??

in 2016 I applied for Business conference Visa offline and attached Conference Letter from my organisation with my name, Income Documents, Bank Statements Stamped by bank and I always create a excel sheet of all my details of FD,RD LIC, Bank Account, Credit Card nos and limit
in 2022 i applied for Visa for my wife and son but unfortunately i was unable to upload proper documents being limit of all files of 3.5 MB, so both rejected
in 2023 I applied my visa(renewal) as my passport renewed through Travel Agent because i was not having time to reduce file size to 3.5 mb of all documents and do documentation myself, and i got my visa approval in 5 days

thank you for sharing all the information, they are very valuable to me. so thank you so much!! When you say you create Excel sheet of your assets and funds, do you mean you upload them as well?? or keep it for yourself
The file size limit is really very frustrating. Right now the limit is 2MB for each document and it is impossible to fit my 36 page bank statement under 2MB

You are correct, Excel sheet I exported or ctrl +p and saved in PDF and uploaded
