Actually I did have a similar experience, when I received DM on MyCIC I found out that they sent me the COPR by mail the day before, so for everyone wondering when to expect PPR or COPR after they get DM, its very possible it will already be on the way when you see the update on your account.
Hi can anyone tell me around how long it took them for background check to happen after Vienna received file?
They received ours two weeks ago whole thing started in July from dike being sent. They didn't touch the file until beginning of November. Before sending over to Vienna

Nobody can give a definite timeline for the rest of the process, as each case is different and it depends how busy their office is during the next several months. I would say, on average, Vienna takes 4-7 months, as they try to process most apps within 12 months from the moment your app is received at CPC in Canada, but it is not a guarantee. It could take longer, depending on circumstances. On the other hand, you could end up being one of the lucky applicants who gets their app processed in the next 2 months or something.... it is all a guessing game now. It is best to prepare yourself for the wait and the silence from Vienna office for the next months. If things happen to move on quicker for you and you hear from them sooner than expected, you will be pleasantly surprised.
At least you are onto the next step now. Good luck to you!

Ok thanks. I'm just wondering about the fact police clearance paper I think expires in six months which will be soon... And file is stuck at background check. Wondering if they will ask for it again if expire

I was wondering about that myself. My husband's PCC expires in a couple of weeks and we haven't even received AOR1 yet. They may or may not ask for another one, but the good thing about that is that now we can upload the document through IRCC webform and also it doesn't take long to get another certificate, so this should not delay the process.

My understanding is that PCC expiry dates are a little bit subjective on the part of the IRCC officer. Assume you will be asked to submit them again, but if you are really lucky, they may just make a judgement call on your case and not ask again.
