It means you got a letter of the vienna office saying they received your application and working on it with some info and your client number. Kinda the same as you get from cic before sponsor approval.
Following the approval by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, your application kit will be forwarded to Visa Office in Vienna for further processing. When the Visa Section of the Embassy receives your full application from the CPC in Mississauga, they create a file for you. An Acknowledgement of Receipt letter (AOR) with your file number will be sent by email or by post to your mailing address.

Well my wife got her AOR after 47 days, on August 7th. I have no idea why it took so long. I can't be happy about it since the pattern we've been having in the waiting times seems to forecast the worst for us.
And after an 11 year marriage, 2 kids and coming from western europe you would think our file would be easy.

Ya its not looking too great >< but the last few people got their prp's in 1-2 months after aor, so that gives me a bit hope. Still im also waiting since 4 weeks for aor from vienna, but im not the only one...wish we all hear good news soon! We seem not to be many compared to other vo's.
And montrealsnow cleaned the spreadsheet! i dont want to mess it up haha. I help on updating if someone got problems to do it themselfs or if i see someone asking
Or better...the last few mostly got their visa's after aor between 1-4 months, thats not too bad but if you count the entire process its really long if you think how long some waited on sponsor approval. Lets hope after our aor's it goes fast and we are in that time range of max. 4 months!!!
Ya i know what you mean, its been so quiet here and you dont hear of anyone getting a visa or at least ppr yet since months :-( thats really depressing.
