We decided to get married in April. He's coming here with his parents and I can't wait for everything to happen. Also, I will quit my job and work until the end of March. I will go to Canada with him for six months and we will send the papers for PR in the beginning of May. I will save enough money to do it, plus I plan to do some volunteer work and begin studying French. After six months I will return back home for a little while (to wait for the visa to be finalized) and to spend some time with my family and friends before I move. That's the plan. Right now I'm looking around for the rings and planning our small wedding. Yeeeeehaaaaaaaa!
What about you?
Cleo - any chance you see this - how is it going?? 8)
yeeeeaayy that is great, seems like a great plan!! Congratulations!! and about that volunteer work , try to find some info about that, b/c when I was searching about same thing for me I found out that Canada government look at the volunteering same as work even if it is not paid, so be careful about that. I don`t have time right now to search for the link where I found that, just do a little research good luck and as for me, I`m still waiting for the sponsorship approval I guess this week it should be done
Thanks for the warning about volunteering. I didn't know that, I would never joke around with that. I hope I'll find something to do, because 6 months long vacation could be a killer for me. But I think with the variety of options in QC it shouldn't be a problem.
That's great, I'm happy for you!! Keep us posted. Where will you two live? I forgot.
Its been a hectic Month after landing! Just wanted to congratulate everyone on getting this far, and wish all the luck in the world to those still waiting!!
When we landed, it was an easy process at Immigration, just like everyone else...we had to wait about 2 hours , we even ran to try and avoid the crowd!! didnt happen! lol :-\ so because of the lineup is the only reason we took forever, but everything went smoothly, the lady was really nice and made conversation with us..happened to be from my town in Ontario! she was really nice which made me feel so much better cause EVEN I felt nervous I can only imagine my husband!!
Thats all that I have to share, wishing everyone a speedy process to be with their loved ones!!

So...there's gonna be a long waiting on military background checking...
But I'm trying to anticipate things in order to make that waiting shorter. However,I was in the army,I was in many clashes - but my unit was never involved in any war crime and neither was any commanding officer above me.What is 100% sure is that Vienna office is going to get very hard on me.So,I ask advice from you who already had these issues ; what should I prepare and send them regarding my military background ?
Or should I simply send e-mail to Vienna and ask them what they want ?
Forgive me as this may sound like a stupid question...but if (when) my Serbian husband gets his PR visa for Canada, does that mean he can travel to the US (or other destinations he previously needed a visa for) without a specific tourist visa?
